Advanced Placement French Language
Exam Details
The AP French Language exam has two sections. Section I is 50% of the total grade with 81 questions (85 minutes), Section II is 50% of the grade with writing (60 minutes) and speaking (15 minutes).
Exam note: In the listening part, students will be given 30 seconds to read the questions based on each dialogue before listening to the dialogue. Students will be asked to start and stop their tape recorders at various points during the speaking part of exam.
Last year, 49.1% of students scored a 3 or better on the exam.
The College Board publishes sample exam questions and answers from previous years’ exams. It is highly recommended that students review released exams as part of their exam preparation. Most review materials below include content and model practice tests from released Advanced Placement exams.
